Join us for a day of music and unity - celebrating the diversity of our beautiful city. There's hip hop, ska, dance and more along with children's breakdancing workshops and stalls!

We are Love Music Hate Racism, a community‑led organisation focused on strengthening social cohesion across Wakefield. Our aim is to celebrate the district’s rich cultural diversity through music to create welcoming spaces where all residents feel valued and included.

Through our proposed music‑led community event, we hope to bring people from different backgrounds together to share in a positive, inclusive experience. The event will showcase local talent, promote cross‑community understanding, and provide an accessible platform for celebrating the diversity that makes Wakefield vibrant.

Our activities are rooted in inclusivity, community wellbeing, and mutual respect, not political campaigning. This project is designed to foster connection, reduce barriers between communities, and support a more welcoming Wakefield for everyone.

Following the success of our Rave Against Racism event on Saturday 13th July 2024 at Beaver Works in Leeds (included in a Rolling Stone UK's piece on how music is responding to right wing populism) we’re keen to bring something similarly impactful to Wakefield.

So come along if you can and join in the celebration!
