Join us for a performance from the West Yorkshire Police Band, one of the region's longest-standing and most celebrated community ensembles.

Formed in 1974 from the merger of the Bradford and Leeds City Police Bands, the band has grown from its roots as a military-style police band into a vibrant group of serving and retired officers, police staff, and local volunteer musicians.

Over the past five decades, the band has entertained audiences across the UK and internationally, performing at events ranging from the Olympic Homecoming Parade in Leeds and D-Day commemorations in Normandy, to remembrance ceremonies under the Menin Gate in Ypres and commemorations in New York marking the anniversaries of 9/11. The band's fanfare trumpeters have also performed at royal and national ceremonial occasions, including for Queen Elizabeth II and at the Royal Albert Hall.

Expect a lively and varied programme spanning everything from classical favourites to rock anthems, with music to suit all tastes from this extraordinary volunteer ensemble.
