What time do doors open?

The doors to Wakefield Exchange will open at 7.00pm. The building will close at X. Last entry time is 8:00pm.
Arrive in plenty of time to pass through our security checks.

Where do I go?

Wakefield Exchange, Union Street, Wakefield, WF1 3AD.
Entry is via the north entrance to the venue only (under the canopy of the building closest to the Bus station).
 

What are the show times?

Support act 8pm

Main act 9pm

What time does the event finish?

The building will close at 11.30pm.

What food & drink will be available at the venue?

Food and drink will be available to purchase at the venue. Please see the venue website for more details.

Can I bring a bag into the venue?

As a security measure, we undertake bag checks upon entry to our venue.  Small personal bags (A4 size: 210mmx 297mm or less) can be taken into the venue subject to a bag search. If you require a larger bag due to medical reasons or accessibility requirements, please request by emailing hello@wxwakefield.co.uk

Please note we do not offer the facility to store larger bags on site.  

Will there be a cloakroom/storage at the event?

There will be no cloakroom or storage available at the venue.

Is there an age limit for the event?

The event is over 14s, and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Are there any prohibited items?
  • Food & drink: No outside food, glass, bottles, cans, plastic bottle tops or alcohol. If you need to bring your own food or non-alcoholic drinks due to a medical condition or your accessibility requirements, please request by emailing hello@wxwakefield.co.uk
  • Drugs:  No controlled substance or suspected controlled substance including any psychoactive substances.
  • Weapons of any kind (Real or Replica)
  • Professional or flash photography, tripods, monopods, selfie-sticks, audio or video recording devices.
  • Any other item that may cause danger or disruption to any event or to other visitors (regardless of whether or not such item is illegal or is carried for specific purposes).
Are dogs allowed at the event?

Due to the nature of the event we will not be allowing dogs inside the venue, this includes service dogs.

Am I allowed to use camera equipment?

The unauthorised use of professional cameras, video and any other form of recording equipment (including Laptop computers, iPads, Go Pro’s or tablets with filming and recording capabilities) is prohibited.

The use of small digital cameras for personal use is ok, however if your camera has a detachable lens it will be classed as professional, and you will not be allowed to bring it in to the venue.

How can I get to the venue?

 There is no parking on site, however there are multiple pay and display car parks in the surrounding area, as well as Trinity Walk Shopping Centre. You can find out more about the available parking locations in the city, via the main Wakefield Council website.

Below are the car parks in the closest proximity:

  • Borough Road Car Park, WF1 3AZ
  • Merchant Gate Car Park, WF1 2QN
  • Providence Street Car Park, WF1 3BG
  • Trinity Walk Car Park, WF1 1QS

Bus- Wakefield Exchange is on Union Street, directly next to Wakefield Bus Station and opposite Trinity Walk Shopping Centre. There is a free city bus linking to both train stations.

Train- Wakefield Westgate is a short 13-minute walk from Wakefield Exchange and Wakefield Kirkgate is 17 minutes away on foot.

Will there be a smoking area?

There will be a smoking area outside.

Accessibility

We are committed to making WX a welcoming and accessible space for everyone to enjoy.

We have full step-free access from our entrances and a fully accessible lift on the ground floor by the main bar.

A Changing Places Toilet (CPT) is located on the ground floor adjacent to the exit into The Yard.
